We have recently formed a partnership with Beavertown Elementary School to help us connect and build relationships with families in our community. We asked the school if there were ways we could help, and they have responded. 

One of the needs the school has is related to new students coming into school and acclimating to the lunch process. This is quite an adjustment for many of these kids, and the school simply doesn't have enough staff to help all of them. This is where we come in ... 

For the first few weeks of the school year, volunteers are needed during lunch to help students as they learn the lunch routine and help them get things they may have missed like napkins, straws, etc.

In order to volunteer at Beavertown, every volunteer must go through an application process that includes a background check. (Don't worry... that speeding ticket won't disqualify you!) See the application process below.

Because this opportunity is with a local public school, there are pretty strict guidelines for volunteers. In addition, there is a vetting process for volunteers including a background check. Here are the steps to follow to get started ...

• Download and print the Kettering Schools Volunteer Form* (tap or click the link to download the form)
  
• Complete the printed Volunteer Application Form (Page 2 of the document)
• Deliver the completed Volunteer Application Form to Tracy Wright
  
• Complete the Online Volunteer Application (tap or click the link to complete the form)
• The forms will be reviewed by the school district. 
• If the application is approved, you will receive a volunteer ID tag stating your approval as a volunteer. 
• If the application is not approved, you will receive a notice to that affect in the mail.

The approval process takes some time to complete, so if you are interested in volunteering to help with this need, please begin the process as soon as possible.
