What To Expect
Visiting a church for the first time can feel like a big step. We want you to feel welcomed, comfortable, and prepared before you ever walk through the doors.
At Five Rivers, you will find a community of people learning together what it means to live, love, and lead like Jesus. We care about people and want you to feel welcome as you explore faith, ask questions, and take your next step. There is a place for you at Five Rivers.
Come As You Are
Five Rivers is a casual place. Most people dress comfortably, and our pastors are usually in jeans. Whether you prefer jeans, business casual, or something a little dressier, you are welcome to come as you are.
What Happens on Sunday?
Our Sunday Gathering is a little different from what you may have experienced in a more traditional church setting.
We begin together as a church family with worship and shout-outs. During this first part of the gathering, elementary students and Five Rivers Fire Youth remain in the gathering with their families. We love having kids and students worship with the whole church family.
After worship and shout-outs, we take a five-minute intermission. This gives everyone a chance to say hello, connect, grab a drink, or get settled. During intermission, elementary students and Five Rivers Fire Youth head to their classes.
After intermission, we continue with the message and close with a final worship song before dismissing.
H2O Kids
H2O Kids is our Sunday environment for children from birth through fifth grade.
Nursery and preschool children meet during the entire gathering. Elementary students begin in the gathering with their families and then go to H2O Kids during intermission.
Your child’s safety matters to us, so all kids participating in H2O Kids must be checked in by a responsible adult. Elementary students are picked up by a parent or guardian in their classroom after the gathering.
If you are visiting for the first time, our team will be happy to help you get checked in and answer any questions you may have.
Five Rivers Fire Youth
Five Rivers Fire Youth is for students in grades 6–12. On Sunday mornings, students begin in the gathering with the church family and then head to their group during intermission.
It is a great opportunity for students to build relationships, grow in their faith, and learn what it means to live, love, and lead like Jesus.
How Long Is the Gathering?
Our Sunday Gathering usually lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes. We know Sundays can be full, and we hope this helps you plan your day.
